Do you have previous experience as a Census Enumerator? Do you enjoy meeting and talking to the public? Could you use some extra income?
We are looking for twelve motivated, energetic, friendly, and diplomatic Census Enumerators for the County of Grande Prairie‘s 2024 Municipal Census.
Reporting directly to ISL’s Census Coordinator, each Census Enumerator will be responsible for successfully and accurately enumerating each household within an assigned area. Some Census Enumerators will also be assigned to a quality assurance team. The municipal census will be conducted between April 3, 2024 to May 31, 2024.

A Little About You

Your approach to conflict resolution, professionalism, and diplomacy when dealing with the public
Your persistence to complete a project on-schedule
Your resume should show us:
Previous experience with census-based projects, including working in an assigned area under various weather conditions to interview residents and to collect information in a courteous manner
Ability to read a map and plan a route
Ability to follow instructions
Experience in collecting accurate and sensitive information
Bonus points for:
Technologically adept with an iPad
A Little More About the Role
Please note that you must be 18 years of age or older to be eligible for this position and possess a valid provincial driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is a solution-oriented and confident person. Your ability to listen, interpret, and be flexible is the key to your success. The candidate will perform the following duties:
Attend mandatory municipal census enumeration training on March 26, 2024
Deliver PIN cards to households and undertake door-to-door enumeration of households in the County of Grande Prairie No. 1 using handheld tablets between April 3 and May 31, 2024
Perform quality assurance verification over the telephone if assigned
Other census enumeration and quality assurance duties as required
Compensation and Hours:
Enumerator compensation is calculated on a per unit basis
Enumerators can earn up to $1,500
Enumerator reimbursement will be calculated following the conclusion of the census
Hours are flexible as a census interviews are usually conducted during afternoons, evenings, and weekends
